Mira Mesa Community Recreation Group

History

In 2017 a ruling by the City Attorney changed the way recreation councils functioned. As a result the 501C(3) Mira Mesa Recreation Council became an independent nonprofit supporting recreation in Mira Mesa, while the City sponsored organizations which were previously Recreation Councils became Recreation Advisory Groups and then later Community Recreation Groups. The Mira Mesa Recreation Council works cooperatively with the Mira Mesa Community Recreation Group and both work with Park and Recreation Department staff. The Mira Mesa Community Recreation Group now meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7 PM in the Lopez Ridge recreation center. The Mira Mesa Recreation Council does not have a regular meeting schedule, but meets as needed. This website is maintained by the Mira Mesa Recreation Council.
