Ned Baumer

Ned Baumer was a Developer and Business Member of the Mira Mesa Planning Group (MMPG).  Mr. Baumer was a former Naval Aviator and held the rank of Captain in the Navy. Captain Baumer was one of the major donors who made possible the construction of the Veterans Memorial and Community Flag Pole at the Mira Mesa Community Park. He was also a “Master Swimmer”.  With his extensive background in swimming and swimming tournaments he was appointed to be the Chair of the Mira Mesa Planning Group (MMPG) Design Review Committee which helped develop and design the Swimming Pool at Miramar College.  Ned passed away from Brain Cancer in 1997.  The Aquatic Center is named in his honor.
